About Singapore
With a population of about 4.2 millions in a small island of 697 km2, Singapore has emerged to be the 3rd highest GDP-PPP per capita nation in Asia (http://politicalcalculations.blogspot.com/2005/06/gdp-in-asia.html). With a heavy emphasis on education and research, the nation has housed 11 of the top universities in the world. This island state provides not just an ideal place for conferences and casual visitors, it also serve as a springboard to many exotic resorts, such as, Bintan, Bali, Langkawi, Redang, Phuket... to name just a few, all of which are reachable within a couple of hours by flight or ferry. Our symposium delegates are encouraged to extend their stay in Singapore and take this opportunity to explore this exotic and beautiful region in South East Asia.
